The \u201canti-woke\u201d backlash in the U.S. has not dislodged DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) entirely, but there are signs that DEI\u2019s popularity both among the public and in the corporate world has peaked. Among these signs, according to Farient<\/a> data cited by The Economist<\/em><\/a>, is the decline in S&P companies tying compensation to diversity metrics. DEI measures in compensation plans reached their height in 2022 at 53%, before falling to 48% in 2023. This environment, however, continues to evolve.
