Laura Ball
Operations Manager
With over three decades of dedicated experience in the corporate governance and executive remuneration sectors, Laura has a multifaceted skill set that spans operational support, office management, team coordination, marketing, and human resources.
Laura has a commitment to enhancing organisational efficiency while fostering a highly collaborative work environment.

Stephen Cahill
Partner
Stephen has 30 years’ experience advising companies on compensation and equity incentive strategies with a strong track record in turnaround and growth situations.
Stephen is a leading Board-level strategic remuneration advisor experienced in influencing the FTSE 100 Boards and C-suite executives in the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia and America. He has provided advice to half of the current FTSE 100 within the last ten years and has advised some of the fastest-growing FTSE 250, small-cap/AIM clients, and private companies.
Stephen also has been a regular contact for regulators for executive remuneration regulation in the UK.
Prior to joining Farient, Stephen was the Vice Chair and a Partner at Deloitte in London. He was Global Executive Remuneration Business Leader, led Deloitte’s Chair relationship programme and was Head of the Financial Services Tax Practice from 2014 to 2020.
Previously, Stephen was a Worldwide Partner at Mercer in London (where he and Simon were colleagues). He was a Member of Mercer’s UK Executive Board, their Human Capital Leader for Western Europe, and the Human Capital Leader for the Mid-West U.S.
Stephen qualified as an actuary in 1996. He has undertaken the Sustainable Finance qualification at the University of Cambridge as well as Inclusive Leadership through Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics.
Catherine Campbell
Analyst

As an Analyst at Farient Advisors, Catherine helps clients align their incentive programmes with strategic objectives and shareholder expectations.
Using her background in quantitative economics, Catherine benchmarks performance metrics and analyses financial data to provide insights which inform strategic decision-making. Clients range from entrepreneurial organisations to listed companies, operating across a range of sectors, including healthcare, consumer staples, industrials, pharmaceuticals, and retail.
Catherine has experience across multiple functions in the healthcare sector, including individual and distributer-level data extraction and analysis, long-term research projects, and policy development, all contributing to strategic decision-making.
She holds a BA in economics from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in economics from the University of Amsterdam.
David Cohen
Director
David is a Director with Farient Advisors, with close to a decade of experience as a trusted advisor working with UK listed and private companies across all sectors.
David specialises in helping Remuneration Committees and other senior stakeholders through the annual remuneration cycle, covering issues including remuneration strategy, incentive design, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement and disclosure.
In addition, David has extensive experience advising private companies, including those owned by private equity houses, in relation to establishing a remuneration philosophy. This includes support designing fixed pay policies as well as the design and implementation of short-term and long-term incentives.
Prior to joining Farient, David worked in the Executive Compensation team at Deloitte.
David qualified as a chartered accountant with the ICAEW in 2020 and holds a First Class BSc from University of Birmingham in Money, Banking and Finance.
Catriona Flynn
Senior Client Advisor
Catriona has 18 years’ experience in both professional consulting and senior operational positions. Her client base in consulting includes a broad mix of FTSE 350, AIM listed, private companies, and the higher education sector where her roles have involved liaison with C-suite leaders, remuneration committees, and human resources professionals.
Before specialising in the executive compensation field, Caitriona worked as a corporate tax consultant and then as a manger of human capital services at Arthur Andersen.
She earned her BA in economics and accounting at the University of Newcastle and is a chartered accountant.
Simon Patterson
Partner
Simon has more than 30-plus years’ experience as a trusted advisor to an array of listed and privately held companies and is a Partner at Farient Advisors. He consults widely on the topic of aligning incentives with performance and has deep experience with companies undergoing significant challenges.
Simon is the author of Knowledge Base publications, wrote a regular blog on subjects related to executive pay, and chairs several conferences, including the European Compensation & Benefits Conference (held in a major European capital annually) as well as the Neovation Conference (held in London). He is a member of the UK’s Remuneration Consulting Group, the body which oversees the industry’s Code of Practice.
Before joining Farient, Simon was the Managing Director of Remuneration Associates (Rem.n), in London, serving clients across the EMEA Region. Prior to that, Simon was a Worldwide Partner with Marsh & McLennan and led Mercer’s executive compensation practice in the UK.
In 1994, Simon co-founded the London office of Strategic Compensation Associates (SCA Consulting), where he joined Robin Ferracone in partnership. He ran SCA Consulting in Europe until the partnership was acquired by Marsh & McLennan in 2001.
Simon holds a BSc from University College London and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
Reem Shah
Analyst
As an Analyst at Farient Advisors, Reem benchmarks pay and performance metrics, analyses financial data, and conducts in-depth research on clients and their competitors. Her insights help Farient Advisors develop tailored remuneration strategies which align with each client’s specific objectives and industry context.
Her experience spans a diverse range of industries, including financial services, information technology, life sciences, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. In these sectors, Reem focuses on performance, pay benchmarking, and programme prevalence.
Reem’s interest in a consulting career was sparked during her university studies where she built a strong foundation in data analysis, financial modelling, and strategic decision-making.
She is a graduate from the University of Bristol where she earned a degree in economics and finance.
Alexandra (Alex) Styles
Manager
Alex is a Manager with Farient Advisors. In this role, Alex manages client projects, overseeing projects, and ensuring that executive remuneration programmes connect to an organisation’s strategic objectives and align with long-term shareholder value.
Alex combines her background in financial services with her understanding of remuneration to develop tailored recommendations for clients. Alex has a wide client base, from entrepreneurial companies to FTSE 100 and 250 companies, in a variety of industries including energy, insurance, retail, healthcare and technology.
She specialises in bespoke benchmarking assignments, directors’ remuneration report drafting, and design of variable pay programs.
Alex has worked with the team at Farient for over five years. Prior to joining Farient, Alex was a consultant at Remuneration Associates (Rem.N), which was acquired by Farient in 2024. Prior to that, she worked at consulting firms including Willis Towers Watson and Pearl Meyer.
She holds a First Class BSc from Oxford Brookes University in accounting and finance. She is also a keen sportswoman who has represented her country in rowing, and can often be found either swimming, cycling or running.
Constantine (Stan) Turner

As an Analyst, Stan supports clients by benchmarking performance metrics and analysing financial data to develop strategic recommendations. His analysis helps Farient Advisors design incentive programmes that align with client objectives and stakeholder expectations.
His work spans several high-profile clients, and focuses on incentive design, pay benchmarking, and programme prevalence across various industries, including financial services, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, energy, real estate, construction, and distribution.
With a particular interest in pay for performance, Stan was responsible for last year’s (and 10-year anniversary) “CEO Value Index” analysis. He is currently engaged in research exploring the use of environmental incentives to enhance stakeholder value, an area he is keen to explore further.
His interest in consulting started at university where he volunteered at 180 Degrees Consulting, providing pro-bono strategy and data science consulting to clients in the third sector. Outside of work, his interest in music has led to the successful development of multiple music events.
Stan graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in management.
