August 19, 2024

Robin A. Ferracone was named to the board and as compensation committee chair by the newly public TWFG, Inc. The board of the insurance and financial services platform company is comprised of six directors, four of whom are independent. Janet S. Wong, a certified public accountant and former senior partner at KPMG, was also named to the TWFG board and appointed chair of the audit committee. Janice Zwinggi is also a certified public accountant and TWFG’s CFO. The trio were among those who appeared at TWFG’s opening bell ceremony at Nasdaq on June 18, 2024, to mark its initial public offering.

“I was eager to join an entrepreneurial, innovative company as it accesses the public market for the first time,” said Ferracone. “This appointment represents a great opportunity for me to work alongside board members who will benefit from my knowledge and experience and vice versa.”

Ferracone, founder and chair of Farient Advisors, also serves on the board of WildAid (where she was recently chair) and 50/50 Women on Boards. She formerly served on the board of Trupanion, Inc., where she chaired the compensation committee, and is a trustee emeritus of Duke University.

The Woodlands, Texas, insurance and financial services company went public on the Nasdaq on July 18, raising $168 million on the sale of 11 million Class A shares. TWFG used proceeds from the IPO to acquire newly issued LLC units of TWFG Holding Co LLC. As a result, it will be the sole managing member of the holding company, overseeing all its business and affairs.

TWFG was founded in 2001 by CEO, Chair, and President Richard Bunch III. TWFG provides insurance services primarily in Texas, California, and Louisiana but is licensed nationwide.

TWFG had net income of $26 million on revenue of $159 million for 2023, compared with net income of $21 million on revenue of $139 million a year earlier, according to filings.
