Elon Musk’s latest SpaceX compensation structure is turning heads far beyond Wall Street, and NBC News turned to Farient Advisors Chief Data Officer Eric Hoffmann for perspective on the unprecedented pay package tied to Musk’s long-term vision of establishing a permanent human settlement on Mars.
Hoffmann noted that while project-based compensation structures are not entirely uncommon, the scale of Musk’s arrangement is incomparable.
“Obviously, the sheer size and value of this potential award is incredible and completely unprecedented,” Hoffmann said.
