Farient Advisors Announces Appointment of Brian Bueno as ESG Leader

Farient Advisors (Farient), a leading independent executive compensation, performance and corporate governance consultancy, today announced the appointment of Brian Bueno as Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Leader. This appointment comes as investors increasingly push boards to incorporate ESG metrics and goals into executive pay plans, as new research from Farient and the Global Governance and Executive Compensation (GECN) Group, “2022 and Beyond: Global Trends in Stakeholder Incentives,” recently highlighted.

Bringing more than a decade of experience to his new role, Mr. Bueno began his professional career as Lead Research Analyst at IBISWorld, a market research firm. He went on to join Farient as a Senior Analyst from 2012 to 2015, where he advised corporate clients on performance measurement and compensation strategy, with the goal of aligning reward programs with the client’s business strategy and shareholder value creation. Since 2015, Bueno has been Vice President of Compensation Products at Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), where he has led the creation and management of models and software solutions that assist public companies in the design, planning and disclosure of their executive compensation and incentive programs, with a focus on the institutional investor perspective. This experience has equipped Bueno with skills relevant to bringing companies’ compensation strategies into alignment with the new world of stakeholder capitalism.

Drawing on the talents cultivated during his tenure with ISS, Bueno’s work will focus on advising clients on the optimal ways to set, implement and communicate their ESG-based compensation strategies.

Mr. Bueno is a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC), where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Marshall School of Business and a minor from the Roski School of Art and Design.
