The “anti-woke” backlash in the U.S. has not dislodged DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) entirely, but there are signs that its popularity in the corporate world has peaked. Among the indicators, according to Farient data cited by The Economist (Sept. 19, 2024), is the decline in S&P companies tying compensation to diversity metrics.
